Mayor of Sevierville dies following battle with cancer

City of Sevierville Mayor Bryan Atchley passed away early this morning, while at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
The Sevierville Police Department is asking for thoughts and prayers for the family of Bryan Atchley, the long-serving Mayor of Sevierville.
Mayor Atchley had been admitted to admitted to the hospital on Monday.
According to a release from the police department, Atchley was admitted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was scheduled to receive chemo treatment, but his white blood cell count was extremely low.
Bryan Atchley loved Sevierville and its special place at the edge of the Smokies. He served his city long and well and was a great friend. We will miss him.
