PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Dollywood's Splash Country is opening to visitors wanting to cool down this summer -- and the park is offering a sale to get patrons excited!

The water park has been scheduled to open on May 19. To celebrate, the park is offering an online sale until May 18: Purchase a two-day Dollywood ticket and upgrade to a two-day, multi-park ticket for free. Tickets purchased online can be used through June 3.

However, the reduced prices aren't all Splash Country has that's new this year. Park upgrades include Too Hot Tuesdays with a DJ on the wave pool deck, along with new menu items. Too Hot Tuesdays will take place from noon until 2 p.m., on Tuesdays from May 22 until June 26. Trailhead Tacos is a new eatery that offers a Tex-Mex menu, and other new menu items include Loaded Tots, a new Beaver Tail flavor featuring MoonPie and a Cookie Dough Dream flavored gourmet milkshake.

Splash Country also has new Coca-Cola Freestyle machines.

This year, Splash Country also has new landscaping and new shady spots, with new paint and themed decorations as well. During the 2018 season, guests can also rent Luxury Loungers in addition to Retreats and Canopies for shade and comfort.

New self-serve ticket kiosks give riders the option to save 90 percent of ride wait time with new TimeSaver H20 options.

Splash Country has also added aquatic wheelchairs and adult changing tables for families to use this season.

Splash Park is open during the summer through Sunday, August 12. After that date, the park will only be open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekend until Labor Day on September 3.
