WWE presents $100K check to the Knoxville Public Safety Foundation

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - WWE presented a $100,000 check to the Knoxville Public Safety Foundation Saturday night in the ring at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum.

The donation from WWE is going towards the Knoxville Public Safety Foundation at the request of Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs, as a thank you for making a series of appearances for WWE last fall.

The foundation provides help and support to the City of Knoxville Fire Department, Knoxville Police Department, Knox County Sheriff's Office and the University of Tennessee's Police Department employees and their families who've suffered a catastrophic injury, illness, death or other life-altering event.

Knox County Mayor Glen Jacobs, Knox County Sheriff Tom Spangler and representatives from the Knoxville Public Safety Foundation accepted the check.
