Underground marijuana operation discovered in Hamblen County

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Hamblen County Sheriff's Deputies recently discovered an underground marijuana operation on Janeway Hollow Road near the Hawkins County line, according to a post on their official Facebook page.

They said a 15'x15' room contained nearly 100 marijuana plants averaging up to 4' tall.

The Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post that it was a "very well equipped marijuana underground grow."

They charged Ray Allen Landry with the manufacturing of marijuana for resale.

"The battle against illegal drugs will continue,"
officials said.
