Several streets closed in downtown Knoxville for weekend events

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The 58th annual Dogwood Arts Festival will begin Friday, April 26 and run through the weekend across downtown Knoxville, leaving several roads closed.

The festival will be held in Market Square, Krutch Park and Market Street. Organizers expect as many as 50,000 people to attend the event.

Beginning Thursday at 5 a.m., Union and Clinch Avenues between Walnut and Gay streets and Market Street between Church and Union avenues will be closed until 8 p.m. Sunday.

Central Avenue will be closed to traffic Sunday from 2-10 p.m. for the Long Table, a fundraiser dinner for Community Shares of Tennessee.
