SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Sevierville woman has been accused of embezzling money from the New Center Little League Football Association.

Misty Trentham, 41, was indicted on charges of felony theft over $10,000 and arrested on March 8.

After an investigation into a report filed by the little league's president in February, authorities found that Trentham allegedly embezzled money from the league's bank account from June 2017 to January 2018 while serving as the league's treasurer.

Trentham posted bond and was released from jail Thursday. She is expected to appear at an arraignment hearing in the Sevier County Circuit Court at a later date.
