Sevier County Sheriff's Office warns of telephone scam

SEVIER CO., Tenn. (WVLT) - The Sevier County Sheriff's Office is warning of a telephone scam that involves someone claiming to be a representative from their office.
The caller then requests funds, green dot cards and/or bank account information, and then threatens jail if the person does not agree to those terms.
The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office said they DO NOT solicit money, donations, or engage in fund raising over the phone, so if you receive this call, do not give out any personal information.
