KPD to promote second woman in dept. history to deputy chief

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville Police Department will promote the second woman in the department's history to hold the rank as deputy chief on Monday evening.

Eve Thomas will take rank as deputy chief during a ceremony at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum Ballroom at 4 p.m. Monday.

Thomas will command Knoxville's Criminal Investigation Division.
