Heavy rain causes flash flooding across East Tenn., home collapses

Rural Metro Fire responded to a house collapse in Powell Sunday.

According to a spokesperson for the department, accumulation of rain on its roof caused the back wall of a double-wide mobile home to cave in. Officials said at least four people were inside at the time but made it out. safely. No one was injured, but the Red Cross was called to assist the family. Officials said the house it not completely destroyed and should be okay.

Heavy rain pummeled Sevier County and caused Dollywood to flood, too.
