NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Governor Bill Lee has signed a new bill making the bluetick coonhound Tennessee's state dog.

The bill was introduced by Rep. Bill Beck introduced that would make the hound a state symbol. It passed both the House and Senate in unanimous votes.

The dog has been an East Tennessee staple serving as the mascot for the University of Tennessee Volunteers, but now has the chance to win over the hearts of all Tennesseans.
