KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- The University of Tennessee is one step closer to finalizing a new alcohol policy for campus pending an upcoming meeting with the Knoxville Beer Board.

The meeting will have Aramark Food Services present their plan for the new alcohol policy on campus.

George Wallace, Board Chairman for the Knoxville Beer Board, said that if the plan is approved, it can go into effect immediately the following day.

According to Wallace, along with alcohol permits and contracts, Aramark must show they can provide compliance with under-aged drinking and a full-scale plan on how they plan to combat the issue, in Neyland Stadium and Thompson-Boling Arena

Governor Bill Lee signed a bill back in early April allowing the sale of alcohol in facilities in public universities across the state.
