NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Beer lovers and science enthusiasts will unite for a cause as Adventure Science Center and Lipman Brothers present the ninth annual Science of Beer Dec. 14 at Adventure Science Center.

Guests will enjoy another extraordinary night benefitting the Science Center’s exhibitions and educational programming while sailing away to parts unknown as this year’s theme – Around the World in 80 Brews – brings the largest selection of international craft brews in the event’s history.

For a second year, Turtle Anarchy Brewing Co. is partnering with Adventure Science Center to craft a signature Science of Beer brew that will only be available at the event – 615 Moai, a Chilean-style Lager. While lagers are a predominantly European style of beer, Turtle Anarchy’s version is brewed with malt from Chile that is grown under unique conditions between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes Mountain range, where the soil and the climate provide a distinct regional flavor.

The Science of Beer is no ordinary beer festival. While enjoying brews from all over the world, guests can learn more about hot air balloons with an exciting live science demonstration, try their hand at building a “beer pong” catapult in the Tinkering Garage, sample scientifically-made beer ice cream, and experience the Science Center’s new Virtual Reality studio with two incredible modules created by local VR development company, BlackBox Realities.

Adventure Science Center is bringing back the larger-than-life jeopardy experience under the 63-foot Sudekum Planetarium dome where guests can show off their beer, science and cultural knowledge. This year’s jeopardy experience is presented by Craft Brewed and will feature a tasting bar that allows guests to continue their journey around the world while enjoying this special planetarium offering. Plus, Music City Brewers will be onsite giving guests first-hand insights about the basics of homebrewing from their own personal experiences.

King Tut and Steaming Goat food trucks will be on-site with food available to purchase that attendees can enjoy while keeping warm under the Science Center’s new outdoor heaters or inside Jack Wood Hall complete with live music entertainment from local band Hey, Listen playing a special set of internationally inspired pub songs.

The Science of Beer is sponsored by Lipman Brothers. Special thanks to Turtle Anarchy Brewing Co. (brewery partner), Corsair Distillery (spirits partner), Minuteman Press (pint glass & printing sponsor), and our awesome entertainment and community partners: Craft Brewed, Music City Brewers, Hey Listen, and Yelp. Guests must be 21 or older to attend. Activities and presentations are subject to change.

Tickets are $60 for non-members, $50 for members, and include admission to all exhibits and activities, unlimited samples of 80 craft beers from across the globe, tastings of beer-inspired spirits from Corsair Distillery, and a commemorative Science of Beer pint glass. Tickets are available at www.adventuresci.org/scienceofbeer.
